The next monthly meeting will take place in the Parkfoot Social Club on Saturday 01/11/08 at 11 00hrs. A copy of the first Round Singles and Doubles Ties will be given out. A reminder is given to ALL teams that registrations MUST be paid at this meeting. There will also be an EGM directly after the meeting to discuss a proposal by the Parkfoot regarding the Blackball Rules. No other business will be discussed other than that topic.
The Semi-Finals of the Frank McAteer Charity Rosebowl will be contested between the following teams.

BOTH Semis will be played in THE PARKFOOT SOCIAL CLUB on Tuesday 14/010/08. To ensure the games are completed, could all four teams be ready at 7 30 p.m.
The October monthly meeting will take place in the Parkfoot Social Club on Saturday 04/10/08. All teams should be present. An update will be given on Rosebowl and reps are reminded to bring all outstanding monies for Registrations, Singles and Doubles.
The September Meeting will be held on 06/09/08 at 11 00 in the Parkfoot Social Club. ALL teams must be in attendance. The Rosebowl starts on the following Tuesday and fixtures will be issued at this meeting. Teams are reminded to bring their Registrations, Singles and Doubles entrants to this meeting.
It is my intention to have the first meeting of the season on Saturday 09/08/08. Hopefully this will give everyone plenty of notice to iron out any problems before we start the Season off. The draw for the Sections in The Frank McAteer Charity Rosebowl will be done at this meeting as we will be starting the Season with the Rosebowl in order to let teams get familiarised with competative Blackball Rules. Teamsheets etc, will be distributed at this meeting. Venue as always will be Parkfoot Social Club at 11 00 am.
Rileys Hainsworth 4-Person Team Event is a major UK tournament for genuine amateur players. There's a total of £10,000 in prize money.
£3,000 to the winner plus the Hainsworth trophy.
The UK National Final will be held on 7th February 2009.
Entry forms were distributed at the SPA meeting of 6th July 2008.
The entry fee is £25 per team.
In Scotland the Scottish Pool Association have been allocated four team places in the UK National Finals and matches will be played to blackball rules.
Qualifiers will be held at Rileys Clubs throughout Scotland.
Hot on the heels of the SPA leading the way in the pool community by showing an event fully live streamed for the first time in our history, we have now taken another step forward with a test of HD video. Unfortunately it cannot be used for steraming at the moment, but should give us options for recording events and distributing DVDs. Hopefully quicker than Cue Sport TV and the Hustlers guys (I'm still waiting on my DVD from the Champions Eevent :D)
Well at last the Blackball Rules have been voted in and hopefully should make a differance to the players of the League. I would like also to welcome the two new teams who have entered for next Season namely The Scarecrow and Kirky Miners.
I would hope that everyone takes time to familiarise themselves with the rules so that there will be as little disruption as possible during the year!!! I hope to start the Season with the Frank McAteer Charity Rosebowl in order to give everyone who is not conversant with the changes a chance to get used to them before the League starts in earnest.
